Microsoft to Introduce Some Windows 11 Features in Windows 10: Report

Microsoft is reportedly bringing printing options from Windows 11 to Windows 10. The new printing feature is supposed to introduce the ability to add a PIN to a print job. This step is to be added to avoid duplicate connections and incorrect printouts. The update is said to be part of the Windows 10 version 22H2 update. Last month it was announced that Microsoft was moving to a new development plan for Windows. Windows 11 is also reportedly getting a feature called “Privacy Audit” that will help users look at apps that are accessing their microphone, camera, and location data.

According to a recent Windows Latest report, Microsoft is bringing Windows 11 printing capabilities to Windows 10 as part of its Windows 10 version 22H2 update. This is said to include features that were exclusive to Windows 11, including the ability to add a PIN to a print job. This feature is expected to help avoid duplicate connections and incorrect prints.

As mentioned earlier, Microsoft has reportedly switched to a new development plan for the Windows operating system. The company is expected to return to its traditional three-year cycle, which could mean the next major version could be released in 2024. That version could be Windows 12 if the company chooses to stick with its current naming trend, according to the news. Microsoft is also expected to double down on releasing new features for the current version of Windows.

To recall, Windows 11 is said to be getting a feature called ‘Privacy Auditing’ which will help users take a look at the apps that are accessing their microphone, camera, and location data. Microsoft initially introduced this feature to app developers for testing. However, it will be available in the future for Windows 11 users to decide whether they should continue to use apps that track their sensitive data on the system.

Windows 10 to get new Start menu design and updated Alt-Tab functionality

Microsoft has confirmed that it is changing how the Start menu looks on Windows 10. The new start menu design includes a cleaner look that honors the color theme of the entire block.
Live tiles, which have been the primary element of design on the start menu, will be dominantly minimal, while solid backpaper is also moving away. Microsoft hinted at a design change in February but has started rolling out testers this month.

The major change in design is the replacement of solid colors behind the logo on the tiles in the start menu with a transparent background in the uniform menu.
Microsoft says the new design for the Start Menu is more in line with the company’s Office and Microsoft Edge icons, such as the company’s fluent design and calculators, calendars, and other native apps. It’s a more streamlined look that borrows its elements from Windows 10, updated in February.
Both light and dark modes are supported by the new design, as well. However, Microsoft is also allowing users to customize the start menu with the color of their choice.Related:-Oppo Details Which Phones Have Wi-Fi Calling in India, Reveals Roadmap
Color customization will only work with Dark Mode and users can set the color by delving into Settings, then Personalization and finally, Color Settings. Hues radiate the entire start menu and taskbar, as well.
In addition, Microsoft is changing how the Alt + Tab key combination works on Windows 10. Key combinations have served as a productive tool that makes it easy to switch between applications while multitasking.
With the new update, the Alt + Tab combination will work for Microsoft Edge Tab. This means that users can switch between apps that can be open at one time in addition to tabs opened in Microsoft Edge.
There is a possibility that users may be confused with the new settings, which is why Microsoft is letting them turn it off. To turn off the setting, users need to go to Settings, then System, and finally, Multitasking. The feature currently works with Microsoft Edge’s Canary or Dev Build on Windows Insider.
The taskbar is also getting more productive and compact with new updates. Microsoft is associated with Device 10 grouping apps on the taskbar by device.Related:-Realme X Starts Receiving New Software Update With June Security Patch, PaySa and Heyfun Apps, More
For example, if an Android phone is connected to Windows 10 for notifications and other functionalities, the taskbar will group the app icon and show the phone icon. Similarly, icons will be grouped with Xbox icons when Windows 10 is paired with an Xbox account.
